Diagnostic investigations are fundamental in the veterinary profession. Since animals cannot articulate their symptoms, a clinical examination combined with a thorough clinical history is crucial but often insufficient for a definitive diagnosis.
Pet Diagnostic Tests - Vet Investigations for Dogs and Cats
Animals can't speak, so diagnostics are fundamental
We conduct in-house hematology, biochemistry, and various infectious disease tests. Our microscopes are extensively used for sampling and analysis of a wide range of specimens. We also perform urine and fecal analyses, and we collaborate with an external laboratory for bacteriology cultures.
We perform in-house radiographic (X-ray) exams using digital technology and, when indicated, employ contrast agents for more detailed investigations.
Ultrasonography is another valuable diagnostic method. It provides additional information on abdominal or thoracic pathologies when radiographic exams are inconclusive.
These imaging methods are often combined to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
Patients must be extensively shaved and fasted from food for high-quality ultrasonographic exams depending on the area examined.
We can perform these diagnostics on non-sedated animals; however, appropriate sedation is often recommended to improve diagnostic quality and reduce patient stress.
For more advanced imaging options such as CT and MRI scans, we work in close collaboration with specialized facilities. When necessary, we refer patients to these facilities, ensuring the most accurate and comprehensive results.
